50 years of consecrated life of Sr. M. Georgina Kuncharacatt
29 June, 2014, was a day of celebration for the Community of the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master of Calicut as they gratefully remembered fifty years of consecrated life of Sr. M. Georgina Kuncharacatt.
During the celebration Sr. M. Georgina recalled the marvelous works that the Lord had done in her life. Young and enthusiastic, with a heart full of hope she turned her steps to the narrow path of service and sacrifice. Overwhelmed with a missionary spirit she said “good-bye” to the land that had given her the identity and embraced a missionary life in the Congo, Burkina Faso and France where she spent 45 years.
Her journey through ‘desert’ and ‘green meadows’ gave her a tangible experience of the living God lived with a deep rooted faith.
The Eucharistic celebration of thanksgiving was presided over by Rev. Fr. Philip Muthukulathil, SSP, and assisted by other members of the Society of Saint Paul in Calicut. In his homily, Fr Philip explained what it means to be a disciple of Jesus stressing that only with the love of God we can face everything. He congratulated Sr. M. Georgina for her courage to take up challenges in life and do things with deep convictions.
We thank God for the gift of Sr. M. Georgina on this occasion of her 50 years of religious life and we wish her all the best for the years to come.
