| Fr. James Alberione, founder of the Pauline
Family was born on April, 1884, in Italy. While still a seminarian,
praying before the Blessed Sacrament on the night separated the 19th
century from the 20th century, he had received a very special inspiration
"to do something for the men and women of the new century". Later in 1908, as a priest, he began to pray and have others to pray for a new Religious Family that would completely belong to Jesus the Divine Master; present in the Eucharistic Mystery and be a life-giving source of grace and blessing for the Church, for the Pauline family and for the whole of humanity. His dream and vision was realized with the foundation of the PDDM Sisters. Fr. Alberione who uniquely combined in himself relentless activity and unparalleled prayer life passed away on November 26, 1971. Pope John Paul II beatified him on April 27, 2003. |
